1. Foo Fighters -- Times Like These
I've always had a soft spot in my head for Dave Grohl, since his Nirvana days. I also saw the Foo Fighters in San Francisco at the Tibetan Freedom Concert many years ago. With all that being said, I'm not a huge FF fan, but I do like this song.

2. Mark Snow -- X-Files Theme
Yep, that's exactly what it is. There's not to much you can say about that.

3. Jay-Z -- Hardknock Life
Remember the mid-90s, when no one knew who Jay-Z was? Well, I do.

4. Bright Eyes -- Lover I Don't Have to Love
I like this song, but it's pretty intense and depressing. Definitely *not* the feel good hit of the summer.

5. Bob Schneider -- Big Blue Sea
Famous mostly for once dating Sandra Bullock, Bob Schneider is terribly underrated. He's like Jack Johnson if JJ was actually good.

6. The Verve Pipe -- Hero
Another good song from the VP.

7. Edwyn Collins -- A Girl Like You
This is a great song.

8. The Appleseed Cast -- Fight Song
One of the many random songs on one of the many random CMJ discs I have. Eh. It's emo.

9. Average White Band -- Cut the Cake
AWB is most famous for "Pick up the Pieces," a song that sounds suspiciously like this one.

10. The Fugees -- Ready or Not
I've never been a big Fugees fan, either. That damn "Killing Me Softly" song could send me from the room screaming. But this song? This one I like.
